How MeeTwo was started
Like most start ups, MeeTwo began as a good idea, but it wasn't until Suzi met Kerstyn that it turned into a viable project. Their meeting was serendipitous. They got talking at a kid’s trampolining class and Suzi shared her idea for an app that would allow teenagers to access advice and information through a smart phone. Suzi's experience as an agony aunt, a psychologist and a Childline counselor meant that she was experienced at dealing with social, sexual and emotional problems, but it was Kerstyn's experience in education and technology that made the project happen.
Co-CEO: Suzi Godson (Left) is a psychologist, journalist and leading expert in sex and relationships. She writes a weekly sex and relationships column in The Times newspaper and is a regular BBC Woman's Hour contributor. Suzi believes that young people need a much broader PSHE curriculum that includes issues like body confidence, peer pressure, consent, attraction and how to behave in a relationship. In her book ‘The Body Bible’ (Penguin), Suzi tackles the complex relationship that women of all ages have with their bodies. Her award winning book “The Sex Book” has been translated into fifteen languages and is recommended by the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists. She is married and has four children.
Co-CEO: Dr Kerstyn Comley (Right) is an education technologist, founder governor of a secondary school in London and volunteer teacher. Kerstyn is a link governor for safeguarding with a particular interest in online safety. Through her work Kerstyn has experienced first hand the benefit to young people of peer support. As a governor she is acutely aware of how schools struggle to provide adequate sex and relationship education and pastoral support. Kerstyn regularly contributes to forums like the Innovative Cloud Educator’s (ICE) which actively seek novel technological solutions for education. She is married and has two children.
Media & Communications Consultant: Hilly Janes is a former Assistant Editor of The Times, where she won the Medical Journalists Association's Health Editor of the Year Award. Hilly has also worked as an editor and writer specialising in health, wellbeing, relationships and parenting on leading newspapers and magazines including the Guardian, Observer and Prospect Magazine. She also teaches journalism at the University of the Arts, London.
